Kereru Team Swimming

On Monday the 20th February we had our annual Kereru Team Swimming day. We left from school at 10:40 and returned back to School at 14:45.

We had our day at the Sykes rd pools in Manurewa. Our day consisted of swimming events like 25m and 50m freestyle, 25m butterfly, 25m backstroke and 25m breaststroke. Students could sign up for the swimming events they wanted to do.

We also had class games. We had a competition where we had to pass balls through our legs to the other side of the pool and a hoola hoop relay. We had to come up with a plan to beat the other classes. Our plans must have been very good, because we won every class race.

We also had some relays. The first one was the doggy paddle relay. We had to select 10 swimmers to take part in this event. The second relay was the purple ball relay. We had to pass a little purple ball as a relay baton, but the catch was that we could not touch the ball with our hands. The team consisted of another 10 swimmers. Our last relay was a 10 x 25m freestyle relay.

We had lots of fun and enjoyed hanging out with our mates.

  1. Awesome Room 11. I wonder who wrote this piece of writing. I really liked how you finished up with having fun with your mates. I can really hear your voice.
